Building in Oxford Predates Town's Existence, Celebrates 300-Year Anniversary

The building that has been used for many purposes in the past is currently home to a private wealth-advisory firm.

The building at 90 Oxford Road, home to Daoud & Associates has been in existence since 1714, the Connecticut Post reports.

To celebrate this landmark event, the business is hosting a 300-year anniversary celebration today that will last till 7:30 p.m. According to the publication, the Oxford Historical Society is hosting guided tours of the building and there will be horse and carriage rides as well as live music.

The 3,200 square-foot building is red in color and stands on about two acres of land overlooking Oxford Road.

The building has previously served as a home, a tavern and as a stop on the underground railroad, the publication reports. Local officials have lauded the condition of the building calling the chance to see the house a rare treat for the public.
