Cash Register Stolen From Oxford Restaurant

Someone broke into on Route 67 on Tuesday, police stated in a news release.

A security video showed someone stealing a cash register from the restaurant at 143 Oxford Road, or Route 67, the release states. Fingerprints were taken from the scene, police said.

It could not be confirmed as of Wednesday afternoon whether police got a good look at the suspect from the video camera and/or whether they were able to determine a suspect from the fingerprints. It was also unclear how much money, if any, was taken from the cash register.

This is the second time in a week that someone has tried to rob a business on Route 67. station near the Oxford/Seymour line last week. The man who attempted to rob the store told the clerk he had a weapon but didn't brandish one; he was chased out of the restaurant without incident.
