Homeowner Fred Weller, 71, said the fire started in the garage of the one story ranch-style home built in 1964. Weller lived in the home since his parents bought it when it was built.

Weller, who never married and lived alone, was inside the house at the time of the fire but got out when he heard the fire alarm and then smelled smoke. Nobody was injured in the fire except a firefighter who sprained his ankle.
