Chimney Fire Cleared By Oxford Firefighters: FD
Oxford firefighters worked to extinguish a residential chimney fire over the weekend.

OXFORD, CT — Oxford firefighters worked to extinguish a residential chimney fire at the 200 block of Park Road on Sunday afternoon, according to fire officials. Firefighters responded after smoke was reported coming from the chimney of the home, according to a Facebook post by Oxford Fire-Rescue.
Fire officials said crews opened up the walls and cleared the chimney of any fire, then began overhaul and ventilation. Once complete, crews metered the structure and turned it back over to the homeowner.
Officials from the Oxford Center Volunteer Fire Company said all fire personnel did a great job, given the layout and obstacles of the home.
