Esteves Scores 4 TDs in Oxford Win

Wolverines defeat New Milford 27-0 behind a career day from junior Marcus Esteves, who scored three times on offense and once on defense.

 

The Oxford High School football team defeated New Milford 27-0 on the road behind four touchdowns from Marcus Esteves.

Esteves, a junior running back and linebacker, scored three touchdowns on offense and one on defense. He scored on runs of 11, 7 and 2 yards and on a 25-yard interception return. He scored all of Oxfords points, minus point after kicks.

Esteves had 10 carries for 63 yards. Senior quarterback Brennen Diaz had 10 carries for 38 yards and completed 10 of 16 passes for 113 yards and one interception.

Junior running back Steve Perrson had nine carries for 35 yards, while junior receiver Kyle Chudoba had three catches for 62 yards. Junior Chris VanKamerik had four receptions for 48 yards, while junior Jeff Haney had five carries for 29 yards.

Oxford improves to 4-2 on the season and plays New Fairfield at home at 1 p.m. Saturday.
