Ethics Complaint Filed Against Former Oxford First Selectman
The complaint was filed over actions on the town's budget meeting.
OXFORD, CT — Two people have filed an ethics complaint against former first selectman Kathy Johnson, alleging that she didn't follow Robert's Rules of Order while she moderated a meeting regarding the town's annual budget.
Johnson said the town attorney was sitting behind her and he would've stopped her if he thought her actions were improper when she ignored a motion from a resident to decrease the salaries of the first selectman and two selectmen according to the Republican American. She also said the motion was politically motivated.
Oxford residents can make motions at a meeting to decrease line items in the budget before it goes to a referendum vote.
