The Chrop SerKulls are coming to Oxford! Okay, they may not be bringing ET’s or rearranging our farmlands, but they are bringing the music and out of this world sounds of this Connecticut trio, to Oxford’s 3rd Annual Gallery of Art on Sunday, Sept. 30, at the Oxford Town Hall. The group consists of Martin Ear on guitars & electronics, Robert Dauphinais on Bass & electronics, and Evan Foreman on Percussion and electronics. The trio perform spontaneous improvisations that have little to do with instruments soloing, and more to do with establishing an atmospheric mood, punctuated by tribal rhythms and electronic washes of sound. The group primarily works with Art shows around the Ct. area. “The artwork inspires us to paint a sonic picture of our own. These shows provide us with a wealth of creative material to draw from,” cites Martin Ear, guitarist. An unusual aspect of their name is the fact that it is never spelled the same way twice. Ear goes on to say, “Most groups consistently find their name spelled wrong in print anyway, so we just decided to make it a fun challenge, that keeps with our nature of improvisation.” The CCrop Syrkulls will be performing on Sunday, 9/30, in the Gazebo outside Oxford Hall from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held inside the Town Hall. This event is free. For more info, contact:
