ID Released in Fatal Oxford Accident: UPDATE

The accident was reported early Monday morning. BREAKING

OXFORD, CT — Noah Benjamin Lubitz, 23, of Craigmoor Road in Ridgefield has been identified as the person who died in a fatal crash in Oxford early Monday morning, the Danbury News Times reports.

Lubitz's vehicle flipped over before ending up down an embankment. He was pronounced dead at Waterbury Hospital, the News Times reports.

State Police are continuing to investigate the accident.

OXFORD, CT — One person has died in an accident on Oxford Road just after midnight, NBC Connecticut reports.

The Oxford Fire Department responded to 10 Oxford Road for reported motor vehicle accident. First arriving officers found one car down the embankment with a person trapped and requiring extrication, the Fire Department said on Facebook.

Crews set up for extrication and removed the patient from the vehicle and the victim was turned over to Oxford Ambulance.

Crews were on scene for extended hours assisting with lights and road closures while the Connecticut State Police conducts their investigation.

The road was closed for several hours but has since reopened. Connecticut State Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
