Make Music Day Concert At Quarry Walk

The free concert is part of Make Music Day, an annual June 21 music celebration.

OXFORD, CT — A free outdoor concert is planned this weekend at Quarry Walk as Oxford marks Make Music Day.

The Oxford Cultural Arts Commission and Kanzeon Sound Studio are presenting a free performance by Country Steel from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 21, at Center Rock Green at Quarry Walk, 300 Oxford Road, according to the event announcement. A public event listing also lists Country Steel’s Oxford performance for 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at 300 Oxford Road.

Make Music Day is held annually on June 21 and began in France in 1982 as Fête de la Musique. It is now celebrated in more than 2,000 cities in dozens of countries, according to Make Music Day organizers.

The Connecticut Make Music Day page says the 2026 celebration is scheduled for Sunday, June 21, and notes that the 2025 statewide event featured 412 free musical performances.

Oxford Cultural Arts has also highlighted Make Music Day as an annual June 21 event and has posted information about previous Oxford celebrations, including local performances and community music activities.
