Furniture For New Oxford Library to Cost $132,760

The Friends of the Library donated $50,000 toward the furniture costs.

OXFORD, CT — The Oxford Library project is moving into the homestretch and $132,760 has been earmarked for new furniture.

At last month's Board of Finance meeting it was announced that W.B. Mason bid $132,760 for the furniture contract. No new funds will be approved by taxpayers. The Library Directors have $62,500 on-hand and the Friends of the Library donated $50,000. The remaining $20,260 would come from the Oxford Library Building Budget.

This would wipe out the gift money, officials said. The appropriation will go to a town meeting, according to Finance Board meeting minutes.
