Girls Track, Softball, Baseball All Undefeated

 Girls Track (3-0) 

The Oxford High School girls track team defeated all three times in its first meet of the season Monday to start 3-0 on the year. Here are the results from Coach Ed Lucas:

In the first meet of the 2013 season: 

Anne Dennen came in 1st in High Jump with a jump of 4-6, Brooke VanBuiten came in 3rd with a jump of 4-4

The 4x800 meter relay team of Olivia Richter, Kristen Au, Jasmine Leung and Kristen Barbaris came in 2nd with at time of 10:45

The 4x100 meter relay team of Hannah VanBuiten, Savada Robinson, Allie Capela and Becky Gumbrewicz came in 2nd with a time of 55.9

Savada Robinson came in 2nd in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.9, Olivia Hinnau came in 3rd with a time of 18.7

Hannah VanBuiten came in 1st in the 400 meter run with a time of 65.8. Becky Gumbrewicz came in 3rd in 69.5

Taylor Dratyon came in 1st in the Javelin with a throw of 106-9. Audrey Pratt came in 3rd with a throw of 79-6

Hannah VanBuiten came in 2nd in the 100 meter run with a time of 13.0 and Jasym DiPetro came in 3rd in 13.4

Savada Robinson came in 1st in the 300 Intermediate Hurdles with a time of 50.8

Olivia Richter came in 1st in the 800 meters with a time of 2:36 and she came in 2nd in the 1600 meters with a time of 5:38.

Jasym DiPetro came in 1st in the 200 meters with a time of 29.2

Taylor Drayton came in 1st in the Shot Put with a throw of 35-1 and Audrey Pratt finshed 2nd with a throw of 30-8.5

The 4x400 meter relay team of Savada Robinson, Kristen Au, Olivia Richter and Hannah VanBuiten came in 1st with a time of 4:36

Audrey Pratt came in 2nd in the Triple Jump with a jump of 31-0.5 and Anne Dennen came in 3rd with a jump of 27-7.5

Audrey Pratt came in 2nd in the Long Jump with a jump of 13-9.75

The Girls next meet is Tuesday, April 23, at Pomperaug with Masuk and Notre Dame-Fairfield. 

Baseball (4-0) 

Oxford exploded for 7 runs in the ninth inning to defeat Joel Barlow 7-2 on the road Wednesday to remain undefeated at 4-0.

Dan Kudej hit a two-out, 3 run double to break a scoreless tie. Neil Ring had a three-run double. Kyle Chudoba pitched eight innings, allowing only two hits and striking out nine.

Barlow moves to 1-1 on the season.

Softball (3-0) 

Sophomore Ashley Guillette gave up just two hits and struck out 16 as Oxford defeated New Fairfield 6-3 on Wednesday. Oxford is now 3-0 on the year.

Allyson Sweeney had four hits, an RBI, and scored two runs for the Wolverines. Megan Sastrum had two hits for Oxford, while Natalie Peterson had a single, an RBI and scored a run, and Shannon Barsevich had a double.
