Important Oxford Storm Update From First Selectman

Storm Update from Oxford First Selectman George R. Temple,
Hi, this is First Selectman George Temple with another update on our clean-up process. The town is returning back to normal but many of you are overwhelmed with the magnitude of your yard clean up. We are meeting Tuesday night at Town Hall at 7:30.
We will be appointing an ADHOC Committee to coordinate volunteer efforts and schedule street wide brush removal. All affected by the storm are urged to attend especially if you have a particularly difficult problem to solve. If you are doing brush work this weekend wear long sleeve shirts and long pants. This is tick season so you may also want to check yourself carefully and use insect repellant. Working with chainsaws is dangerous. If you do not believe me, watch the movie Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

Please use care with your equipment. Any time there is a disaster such as our Tornado, unscrupulous scam artists will appear. If you are doing home repairs, make sure you contractor is registered and licensed as a Home Improvement Contractor with the Secretary of State’s office in Hartford. Avoid good deals. If it’s too good to be true it probably isn’t. By all means insist on a contract with a 3 day recession clause.
Do not pay cash if you do not know the person or their reputation. Any questions regarding this issue contact your lawyer or stop by Town Hall. I am also a Lawyer and I will give you free advice. Saturday we will be opening Lot 14B on E-Commerce Drive for the first time. The site will be open from 7:30am to 3:30pm for brush and log disposal.
