Meet the Author Mary F. Lachman

Mary Lachman is a pathologist, author, and artist. She has published more than 30 scientific papers, several book chapters,and written for Quilting Arts Magazine and Country Living. She has a B.S. from The Ohio State University and a M.D. from the University of Toledo Medical Center. She lives in Connecticut.

Moth at the Window: Poetry of Grover Clayton and Recollections of Indiana

For more than 60 years a handwritten journal languished in an attic until it was discovered by the author while sorting through her mother’s personal effects prior to the estate sale. Lachman opened the text, began to read, and was enthralled by the writing of a man she never knew. In Moth at the Window, the author weaves together poems from her grandfather’s original collection with historical tidbits of the era and her personal reflections of travels to her grandparent’s home in southern Indiana. The original artwork is by Michael Scaramuzzino, a professional illustrator and the author’s son.
