Middle School Students in Oxford Learn About 9/11 and the Aftermath

The majority of the students at the middle school learned most of what they know about the attacks through their history books.

The students of Great Oaks Middle School learned how the 9/11 attacks impact their lives 13 years later during an assembly held Thursday, the Republican-American reports.

Assistant Principal Stephanie Miller told the students that for those of them too young to remember the event, the legacy of 9/11 shapes their lives.

According to the paper, First Selectman George Temple, state Sen. Robert Kane, R-Watertown, and Rosemary Hanson, interim superintendent of Oxford Public Schools, talked at the assembly of their connections with and memories of the day.
