UPDATE: More Severe Weather Possible; Thousands in CT Without Power

Depending on where you live you’ve already experienced severe weather early this morning and it’s forecast to possibly stick around through the afternoon. .

More than 4,100 Connecticut residents are without power including Ridgefield, 2,064, Old Lyme, 529, Danbury, 478, Naugatuck, 106, and Milford, 24 as of 8 a.m.

The National Weather Service says for Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex, and New London counties there is a chance for more showers and a thunderstorm up until noon, and the chance still exists for thunderstorms until 3 p.m.

A chance for more storms is around 30 percent, according to an 8:15 a.m. update from the weather service.

Some heavy winds and rains are possible during this time period. The weather service writes the chance of storms decreases after 3 p.m. but an isolated storm is still possible until 10 p.m.

For Hartford and Tolland counties a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” has been issued for a few strong storms possibly beginning late morning and lasting through the afternoon.

Damaging wind gusts and hail are possible, and the weather service doesn’t rule out the slight chance of a tornado up north.
