New Chairwoman Appointed to Oxford Board of Education

The Oxford Board of Education accepted Chairwoman Diane Soracco’s resignation on Tuesday, the Republican-American reports.

Amy Cote has been appointed the new chairwoman to the Oxford Board of Education.

According to the paper, Soracco will remain in her elected seat on the board. Soracco said her new job would not let her fulfill the goal Superintendent Ana Ortiz has for the board to be intimately involved in the community.

First Selectman George R. Temple previously told the paper he was sad to see Soracco leave.
