New Date For Hearing On Massive Oxford Apartment Proposal
Numerous residents oppose the project.

OXFORD, CT — A hearing will be held 7:30 p.m. Feb. 19 at Town Hall concerning a developer's proposal to construct a 197 unit age-restricted apartment complex at Oxford Greens and 60 of the units would designated as affordable under state statutes, the Republican-American reports.
Numerous residents oppose the project. The site has previously been approved for 52 single family homes but the developer is now seeking the age-restricted affordable housing complex instead.
Because the project is filed under the state's affordable housing statute, it's very unlikely the town can stop the project because the state law gives all the power to the developer.
