Newtown Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

Edward Wilson, 28, faces felony charges following an investigation into emailed child porn images that stretches back to February, state police said.

State police have arrested a 28-year-old Newtown man on felony charges that they say stems from a months-long investigation into emailed child pornography files.

Edward Wilson, of 12 Hillcrest Road, was arrested by warrant Friday and charged with first-degree possession of child pornography, promoting am minor in an obscene performance and obscenity.

According to Lt. J. Paul Vance, a spokesman with the Connecticut State Police, authorities in February received tips that a suspect—eventually tracked to Wilson’s home address— “appeared to be emailing files of suspected child pornography.”

“Troopers seized several items of evidentiary value from [Wilson’s] residence,” Vance said in a news release.

Wilson was held on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Friday in state Superior Court in Danbury.
