Laura Kapusta, 99, of Venice, FL formerly from Oxford, CT, entered into rest on Monday May 27, 2019 with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of 59 years to the late Stanley Kapusta. She was born in Oxford, CT on September 16, 1919, daughter of the late Peter and Wanda (Lubowicz) Popowski of Oxford, CT.Laura and her husband owned and operated Walts Coffee Shop on Main St in Derby, CT for many years.
She was an active member of St. Michael’s Parish. After retiring she enjoyed many hobbies such as, traveling, gardening, entertaining family and friends, fishing, being the life of the party. While living in FL, she was a member of a singles club that gathered weekly for cards and fun.

She is survived by her two daughters, Louise (Jim) Bartolotta of Venice, FL, Janice (George) Tidmarsh of Clifton Park, NY, four Grandchildren James (Deborah) Bartolotta, Stephen (Susie) Bartolotta, Andrew (Dan Marcus) Bartolotta and Paul (Gail) Tidmarsh, eight Great Grandchildren and four Great Great Grandchildren, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Michael Kapusta, brothers Alexander, Konstanty, Joseph, Frank and Stanley Popowski and a sister Genevieve Pfielschifter.
Friends and family may greet the family on Saturday June 8, 2019 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Edward Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. in Derby. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Saturday at 10:45 am for a Mass of Christian at 11 am in St. Michael’s Church in Derby.
