
Austin Derwood Brooks III, 24, of Oxford, entered into rest unexpectedly on Saturday, June 30, 2012.
Born in Derby on Feb. 24, 1988, he was the beloved son of Austin Jr. and Linda Blakeman Brooks.
D.J, as he was known, was employed as a construction worker with Earthworks of Oxford. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, car racing, go cart racing, and dirt bike riding. D.J also enjoyed spending time with the ones he loved.

In addition to his parents, his loving family includes the love of his life, Michelle Stumpo of Oxford, and his two sisters, April Brooks of Oxford and Lori Brooks of Naugatuck. He also leaves his two sisters, Roxanne and Melissa Conroy of Thorndike, Maine; his brother, James Salemme Jr. of Seymour, and their mother, Terri Peabody of Seymour; his grandmother, Donna Higgins of Thorndike, Maine; and three nephews, Wade Brooks, Landon Brooks of Oxford and Ian Ortiz of Naugatuck; as well as two nieces, Shana Loper and Sierra Brooks of Oxford.
He was predeceased by his sister, Darylann Brooks.

A Memorial Service in Celebration of the Life of Austin Derwood Brooks III took place on July 6 at the Christ Church Quaker Farms, 470 Quaker Farms Road, Oxford, with Rev. John Donnelly, rector, officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
