Obituary: Loretta M. Allen, 90, of Oxford
Mrs. Allen is described as the best mother, grandmother and mother-in-law anyone could ask for.

Loretta M. Allen, age 90, of Oxford, beloved wife of the late Donald L. Allen, entered into rest peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She was born in Seymour, on May 4, 1922 the daughter of the late George and Lena Jagun Hummel.
Loretta was an avid homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and helping her husband with all his projects. Loretta especially loved spending time with her two cherished grandsons. She was the best mother, grandmother and mother-in-law anyone could ask for. She will be sadly missed by all and forever in our hearts. Loretta's loving family includes her two devoted daughters Lynne Toth and her husband, James, and Cheryl Williams and her husband, Stephen, all of Oxford, two cherished grandsons Stephen Williams, Jr. and Michael Williams of Oxford and her beloved grand dog Tucker.
A Funeral Service in Celebration of Loretta's life will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2013 in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (Route 67, across from Klarides Village), Seymour, with the Rev. Dominic Valla, Pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle Church of Oxford officating.

Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 p.m. until the start of the service at 7 p.m. Interment will be held privately in Pines Bridge Cemetery, Beacon Falls. Memorial contributions in memory of Loretta may be made to the Shriners Hospital For Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL, 33607.
