Obituary: Paul J. Westbrook, 75, of Oxford
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1964. He was an active parishioner at Sacred Heart Church in Southbury.

Paul J. Westbrook, 75, of Oxford, died Saturday, April 23 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Susan (Diamond) Westbrook. Paul was born Oct. 20, 1940 in Troy, NY, son of the late John and Elizabeth (Dunn) Westbrook.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1964. He was an active parishioner at Sacred Heart Church in Southbury, where he served as an Usher, Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Paul also enjoyed Scouting and obtained the Eagle Scout award, the highest award in Scouting, in which he took great pride. Paul also enjoyed fishing and loved riding his John Deere tractor.
He was a kind, loving man and was well liked by everyone who met him and will be missed by his Panera crew. Besides his devoted wife of 50 years, Sue, he leaves his children: son Michael and his wife Heather (Greening) Westbrook of Wallingford, and daughter Liesl (Westbrook) and her husband, Joe Gargiulo of Durham, CT; two special cousins, Noel Hains of Troy, NY and Beth Moro of Franklin, N.H. His extended family includes many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers, C. Norman Westbrook and Dennis Westbrook. Paul loved spending time with his grandchildren, Frank D Posca (22), Colin J Westbrook (8) and Maddison L Westbrook (6) enjoying special babysitting duties, sporting and collegiate events. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 28th at 10:00 at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury.
