Susan Marie Trabka (Eannotti), 64 years old, entered into eternal rest at her home in Oxford, Connecticut, on Saturday, March 19, 2016, surrounded by her family and friends. Beloved wife of Allen Trabka, mother of Ashley Dayton (Trabka) and her husband Stephen Dayton; Susan's strong will to live, care for and protect her family showed through until the final end during her courageous battle with breast cancer.
Susan was born on March 27, 1951, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the daughter of the late John and Valentine Eannotti. Susan enjoyed watching her UCONN Huskies, dancing with her husband and friends, strolling around Newport during her annual trip with her husband, Wednesday night dinners at Rose's Family Restaurant, and most of all, enjoying each and every moment with her family. Susan had a successful and accomplished 42-year career at GE, followed by her retirement in 2013.
Her positivity radiated to all who surrounded her, and her infectious personality spread through a crowd, with a laugh that could not be copied. Susan's actions taught us all that through the worst, keep a smile on your face and find a reason and a way to laugh.
Her example proves that life isn't always as bad as we think it is, but instead, it teaches us how to be stronger. Susan leaves behind countless friends; her sister, Janis Mitchell, of West Palm Beach, Florida, her nieces Jessica and Amanda Mitchell, Kim Simko and Heather Gildersleeve.
