Our Freedoms are at Stake
Beware those who rob you of freedom with the myth of protection

As we approach the Fourth of July let us assess where America is today, relative to her birth. Sadly, she has come full circle. A comparison of current conditions against the grievances in our Declaration sparks a déjà vu.
Now fast forward to the Constitution and our Bill of Rights. Our freedoms are disintegrating. Our press is largely bought and paid for by the political elites. Our free exercise of religion is expected to stop at the Church door. Our right to free speech is attacked by the armies of political correctness. We are subject to warrantless searches (NSA, TSA). Government violations exist for most amendments.
Consider why attacks on the second amendment are accelerating. Forget the mantra of ‘gun violence’ from the Connecticut Cabal of Gun Grabbers. If gun violence were the real issue then Chris Murphy would stop capitalizing on Sandy Hook. He forces the families of the victims to relive their private hells, trauma and irreplaceable losses over and over again for political gain. He often shares the stage with Rep. Elizabeth Esty and Sen. Richard Blumenthal. They are disingenuous. Urban violence, gang violence, illegal guns, drug cartels and mental health should be the focus yet they come to the microphone only when the demographic of the victims fits the narrative. They distort the data making their statistics reminiscent of Al Gore’s ‘fuzzy math’ during the Gore/Bush campaign. Facts are ignored. Adam Lanza’s background check prevented him from buying a gun; Dylann Roof’s purchase went through because disqualifying information made known during an earlier arrest was not entered into the background check database; Omar Mateen passed TWO background checks, a psychological evaluation and was NOT under FBI surveillance at the time of the Orlando massacre. Gun control in the name of public safety is a fantasy.

Our second amendment is the keystone in the arch and safeguards all other freedoms. It is about personal defense and defense against tyranny. Before the genocide of Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia, China and Cambodia (to name a few) came disarmament of the populace. Paul Revere’s famous ride was prompted by the Brits coming to disarm the colonists. Had they been successful where would America be today? An unarmed society is a compliant society.
The second amendment is about parity. It commands the tacit understanding that the people will not stand idle if being robbed of their freedoms whether at the hands of a foreign invader or our own government. It was, is, and will always be, relevant. The ruling class knows the people will never agree to eliminate the second amendment so they seek to undermine it incrementally.

When a politician talks about loopholes, common sense gun control, assault ‘style’ weapons, magazine capacity and lists, consider what is being proposed. What do the proposals mean in practice, do they violate the constitution, what crime will they prevent? There are gross disconnects between the presumed intent and results. Lists have always been a prelude to confiscation – how else will the enforcers know who has what? It never ends well for the people on the lists yet the lists do help protect the reign of the rulers.
A truly free society cannot provide flawless protection through government. There will be crime, there will be casualties. Criminals always find a way. This is the stark reality. I am willing to accept these risks in the name of Liberty, are you?
