
OXFORD, CT — Voters narrowly approved the $48.3 million budget for fiscal 18-19 by a margin of 596 to 544, according to the Republican-American.
The budget increases by about $1 million and the tax rate will hike by 3.8 percent. One of the most contentious items in the budget was the inclusion of $174,000 worth of raises for the first selectman and 11 non-union town employees. The first selectman's salary increases from $64,993 to $80,000, the Rep-Am reports.
