Oxford youths have reason to celebrate, there will be plenty of new fields to play sports on soon.
A portion of Agnes Tetlak Schiavi Park will receive by the spring of 2015, two new softball diamonds, and a multi-use field for football, soccer, and lacrosse, along with a parking area, the Waterbury Republican-American reports.
The field work was paid for by a $500,000 state grant. The biggest obstacle was working around the major power lines there, the paper reports.

A second phase includes adding several additional fields and courts, but that work is currently unfunded.
