Oxford Approves $800K for School Roof Project
Funds were approved at a town meeting last week.

Oxford residents have approved $800,000 to fund a roof replacement at Quaker Farms Road School, top officials tell Oxford Patch.
Oxford Board of Education Chairwoman Amy Cote said the building committee worked with Larry Secor from Nafis and Young Associates to develop building plans, a timeline for the project and cost estimates. The request for $800,000 went forward and was passed unanimously at a town meeting, Cote said.
The State has now issued a permanent project number and the building committee, led by Ken Sharron, can proceed with the bidding process.

“We anticipate the roof will be replaced over the summer months while students are on vacation,” Cote said.
“I am glad that everything has gone through the process and that the state has approved our documents,” said Ana Ortiz, schools superintendent.
