
James Badas and Dale Keller had three hits apiece to propel the Oxford High School baseball team to a 10-3 victory at Newtown Friday.
Oxford had two big innings – four runs in the second and six in the fifth - and was able to hold Newtown to only a few runs with solid pitching and good defense. Oxford had 10 hits overall, compared to six for Newtown.
Badas drove in three runs, while Keller had an RBI. James Michaud also had a hit and two RBIs, while Jimmy Husar ripped an RBI single and scored twice for Oxford (6-2, 2-2 SWC). Neil Ring got the win on the mound of Oxford, striking out two. Dan Kudej recorded the save for Oxford.
