Update: Oxford Baseball Jumps Out to 3-0 Record

The Wolverines beat Nonnewaug in eight innings on Wednesday.

Bryan Peterson had two hits including the game winning single in the bottom of the eighth inning to propel the Oxford High School baseball team to a 4-3 victory over Nonnewaug at home on Monday.

Oxford was led on the mound by Steve Mahoney, who racked up five strikouts. Mahoney also drove in the game tying run in the bottom of the seventh inning with a single.

Oxford imporves to 3-0 on the season.

The Oxford High School baseball team defeated Emmett O'Brien Technical School of Ansonia 16-4 on Saturday to improve to 2-0 on the season.

The Wolverines were led by Dan Kudej, who threw a complete game striking out 10. James Michaud had two hits and scored four runs. Neil Ring and JP DeFrancesco each had three runs batted in. And Jimmy Husar hit a two-run homerun for Oxford; it was his first of the year. 

Mike Wojnaji had a double for Emmett O'Brien (0-3).

On April 5, in Oxford's first game of the season, Kyle Chudoba pitched five innings and struck out 10 to get his first victory of the year. He also had three hits at the plate including a double and scored two runs. James Michaud had two hits and scored two runs. Dale Keller and Bryan Peterson had two RBIs apiece.
