Oxford School Board Agrees to Fund Full-Day Kindergarten
A new principal has been named, and other updates involving Oxford schools were revealed during Tuesday's meeting.

Amy Cote, chair of the Oxford Board of Education, posted the following updates after the the monthly BOE meeting held on Tuesday evening. The meeting minutes have not yet been posted on the BOE website.
- Full Day Kindergarten will be implemented next year. Ms. Cote has clarified that this means the 2015-2016 school year. The program will cost $136,738 next year, the Republican-American reports. Parents expressed support for the program Tuesday, as did the Oxford Superintendent Ana Ortiz.
- Anthony Hibbert will be the next principal at Great Oak Middle School
- There is still going to be Chorus at Great Oak MS next year
- A new Alternative Education program was introduced at a cost savings to the town for the fall
- The superintendent Ana Ortiz will be working with the Oxford agricultural committee to work on details for the Children’s garden at GOMS to ensure it will fit our curricular needs
-A contract was forwarded for a new administrative position for the Alt Ed program

The Rep-Am reports that a music teacher position at Great Oaks School will not be filled next year.
