Oxford BOE to Hear Update on Proposed Educational Garden

The project has been in progress for more than two years.

The Oxford Agricultural Advisory Commission will present an update to the Board of Education about a proposed educational garden at Great Oak Middle School, Jordan Otero reports for the Republican-American.

The commission will present the new details to the Board of Education at their December meeting. According to the paper, members will have a chance to consider the proposal as the board will not act on the matter at the meeting.

The Board of Selectmen voted in November to apply for a $48,500 grant from the Department of Agriculture to fund the project, the paper reports. The wood and hardware for the project is expected to cost $2,800 along with additional costs for routing electricity and water.
