Oxford Boys Finish Third at State Meet

For the second time in three years, the boys track team came in 3rd overall at the Class S State Championships on Tuesday. They were just 3 points shy of runner up.

Brennen Diaz scored 10 points with a  second place finish in the javelin at 169' and a seventh place turnout in the shot put at 44' (school record).

The other 38 points came from Cameron Swift, Brandon Au, Chris Faber and Ryan Flach.

Swift anchored the 4x400 (3:29.08) and 4x800 (8:15.70) which both came in first place. He also broke the Class S meet record in the 1600 with a time of 4:16.60.

In the 800, Brandon out finished 3rd (2:00.34) and Ryan Flach finished 6th (2:00.88).

The team's next meet will be the State Open Championships at Willowbrook Park in New Britain. Field events start at1:30pm and track events start at 2 p.m.
