Oxford Boys' Have Good Showing at Cross Country Meet

Girls' team does not fare so well Tuesday in Danbury.

 

The Oxford High School boys' cross country team defeated Immacute and Bethel, but lost to Pomperaug, on Tuesday at Immaculate in Danbury, a 3.1-mile course.  Here are the boys' results:

Oxford 16 Immaculate 49
Oxford 17 Bethel 43
Oxford's record is 6-5

3. Cameron Swift 17:46
5. Zach Frew 18:02
10. Brandon Au 18:40RIchard Katrenya 18:55, Joe Venturini 20:22, Sean Coffindaffer 20:28, Zack Latka 20:55, Greg Herold 22:12, Rob Lee 22:41, Noah Budris 23:16 and Tyler Sharron 28:02 also ran well for the boys.

The girls' team lost to Immaculate, Bethal and Pomperaug on Tuesday. Here are the results:

 Savada Robinson was the first OHS runner to cross the line in a time of 22:29. Rebecca Buswell 23:13, Giovanna McMahon 24:36, Becky Gumbrewicz 25:16, Lindsey Koski 25:19, Maggie Palys 28:13 and Sam Orner 32:53 also ran well for the girls.

The next meet is Saturday at the Wickham Invitational in Manchester at 9 am.
