Oxford Considering 4 Options to Upgrade School Facilities: Report

The price tag for each option ranges from $53.5 million to $62.5 million.

OXFORD, CT - The Oxford Board of Education is considering four different options to address facility needs in the school system and the estimated price tag ranges from $53.5 million to $62.5 million, and some of that would be covered via state reimbursement, the Republican-American reports.

A summary of the options, according to the Republican-American include:

Option 1

Add classrooms to Quaker Farms Elementary School and add onto Great Oak Middle School.

Option 2

Renovate the current Great Oak Middle School into a grade 3-5 school and build a new middle school.

Option 3

Build a new 54,000-square-foot elementary school and renovate Great Oak Middle School.

Option 4

Renovate as new Oxford Center School into a grade 3-5 school, and also add additional classrooms.
