Democrats say interested candidates are needed for the November elections.

The Oxford Democratic Town Committee is seeking candidates to run for public office in the election to be held on Tuesday, November 3.

The Committee, according to a prepared statement, needs candidates for the following positions: First Selectman, Selectman, Town Treasurer, Tax Collector, Board of Finance, Board of Education, Board of Assessment Appeals, Planning and Zoning Commission, and Zoning Board of Appeals.

Prospective candidates should be qualified for their position of interest and have a forward-looking vision for the future health and stability of the town, according to a prepared statement.

The ODTC believes that elected officials and candidates must lead and manage a bipartisan government in an open, fair, and professional manner. They must also follow a fiscally responsible approach to progress and economic growth, according to a prepared statement.

Members of the Town Committee will formally endorse a slate of candidates at a caucus to be held in July.
