Oxford Football Loses Despite Strong First Half
Newtown overcomes first half deficit against the Wolverines.

OXFORD -- The Oxford High School football team was beating undefeated Newtown at halftime, but ultimately they could not hold on, losing 47-21 on Saturday.
Oxford led 21-12 at halftime to the undefeated Newtown squad. The Wolverines were led by senior quarterback Brennen Diaz, who had 218 passing yards and 54 yards rushing on 11 carries.

Junior wide receiver Chris VanKamerik had nine receptions for 161 yards, including a 66-yard touchdown reception from Diaz. Kyle Chudoba caught a four-yard pass and Kevin Loschiavo caught a six-yard pass, both for TDs, to round out Oxford’s scoring.
Newtown had 443 yards of total offense, compared to 287 for Oxford.
