Oxford Girls Finish 4th at State Meet

The Oxford High School girls’ track team finished fourth out of 54 teams at the CIAC Class S championships on Tuesday. It is the highest finish for an Oxford girls’ track team.

Taylor Drayton and Savada Robinson earned All-State Honors by winning their events. Drayton defended her 2012 Discus 1st Place finish to place place 1st again with a throw of 126-2 feet. Drayton also won the Shot Put with a throw of 39-11 which is a school record.

Robinson won the 300 Intermediate Hurdles in a time of 47.18. Robinson also placed 3rd in the 200 meter run in a time of 26.69 and Drayton placed 3rd in the Javelin with a throw of 104-0.

The 4x8 team of Kristen Barbaris, Jasmin Leung, Kristen Au and Rebecca Buswell placed 5th in a season best time of10:28. The 4x8 team, Drayton and Robinson all qualified for Monday's State Open Championship.

Also competing in the Class Meet:

  • Kristen Barbaris came in 8th in the 1600 with a season best time of 5:33
  • Audrey Pratt came in 9th in the Triple Jump with a season best jump of 32-4.5 and 10th in the Shot Put with a season best throw of 30-8.25
  • Savada Robinson came in 12th in 100 High Hurdles in a time of 17.59
  • Hannah VanBuiten came in 18th in the 200 meters in 28.63 and the 100 meters in 13.78
  • Audrey Pratt came in 18th in the Javelin with a throw of 85-3   Jasmin Leung came in 20th in the 800 meter run in 2:35
  • Kristen Au came in 24th in the 800 meter run in 2:38
  • Elizabeth Rascko came in 25th in the 3200 meter run in a season best time of 12:53
  • The 4x400 meter team of Kristen Barbaris, Kristen Au, Becky Gumbrewicz and Lindsey Koski came in 14th in a time of 4:30 
  • Anastasia Martinez came in 25th in the Shot Put with a throw of 26-4.75 
  • Becky Gumbrewicz came in 39th in the 400 in a time of 1:07
  • The 4x100 meter relay team of Jasmyn DiPitero, Becky Gumbrewicz, Olivia Hinnau and Hannah VanBuiten came in 21st in a time of 55.4 seconds
  • Jasmyn DiPetro came iin 37th in the 100 meter dash in a time of 14.36
