Oxford Greens Community Scholarships awarded at Oxford High School Awards Night

On Wednesday May 17th at the Oxford High School awards night, Mr. Fran Barr, a member of the Oxford Greens Community Scholarship Committee presented $9,250.00 in scholarships to six graduating Oxford High School seniors.

The scholarship program is in its eighth year. During the past eight years $52,955.00 in scholarships has been given to 38 Oxford High School graduates. Contributions towards these scholarships were made by residents of Oxford Greens.

A $3,000.00 scholarship was awarded to Zoe Olbrys. Zoe will be attending Univ. of Virginia and studying law.

A $2,500.00 scholarship was awarded to Julia Hinton. Julia will be attending UConn and studying economics.

A $1000.00 scholarship was awarded to Patrick McNamara who will be attending NYU and will be studying film and screenwriting.

A $1,000.00 Scholarship went to Ashley Lombardi. Ashley will be attending UConn to studying speech language pathology.

Another $1,000.00 scholarship was awarded to Jacob Eichenbaum. Jacob will be attending either UConn or Villanova studying economics.

A scholarship of $750.00 was given to Rachel Videira. Rachel will be attending Eastern Connecticut State University. She plans on being an elementary teacher for the deaf.
