Oxford High Field Damaged After Fireworks

The damage will cost more to fix than the Quaker Farms Fire Company makes in profit from the carnival.

OXFORD, CT — Someone severely damaged the Oxford High School field after the Quaker Farms Fire Company carnival fireworks.

"For use of the school, we are responsible for maintaining the grounds," the fire company said in a Facebook post. "Sadly, after the fireworks last-night, someone took it upon themselves to destroy the back field. We are now responsible for fixing this and it is going to cost QFFC more money to re-sod the field than we make in profit for our entire yearly carnival."

The fire company is a volunteer organization. Anyone who has information about who may have caused the damage is asked to contact the department or police.
