Oxford Hires 2 Part-Time Animal Control Officers

Both women agreed to work for minimum wage.

Oxford’s animal control officer is headed out on medical leave, and the town has found two women who love the shelter and animals, and they both agreed to do the work for minimum wage, according to recent meeting minutes.

The Board of Selectmen voted to hire Adrienne Merry of Ansonia and Sue Wlasuk, of Oxford as temporary part-time animal control officers for minimum wage or $9.15 an hour.

First Selectman George R. Temple said both women are very involved with the shelter and love animals.

Selectman David McKane said both women do great work, and are adept at helping to get the animals adopted.
