Oxford Holds Off on Paying Its Website Operations Coordinator
The Board of Selectmen had previously approved paying the position $300 a month as a stipend.

Margaret West has been working on managing Oxford’s website serving as its operations coordinator, but it appears she won’t be paid for her work for some time, the Republican-American reports.
The Board of Finance voted this week to hold off on paying West, who is the town’s clerk, for her work as the town’s website coordinator.
The Board of Selectmen approved a yearly stipend of $3,600 or $300 a month for the position. The Finance Board will revisit the issue next month, reports the Republican-American.

Town clerk Margaret West will serve as Oxford’s website operations coordinator on an interim basis, Jordan Otero reports for the Republican-American.
West had asked the Board of Selectmen for a stipend for her work as the town website administrator, which she said was not as simple as everyone perceives it to be.
A permanent person is expected to be placed in the position by February.
According to the paper, the Board of Selectmen appointed West after a recommendation from the town website committee. She will be paid a yearly stipend of $3,600. Oxford worked with Massachusetts-based Virtual Towns and Schools to launch a new website for the town in October.
The decision needs to be approved by the Board of Finance, the paper reports. The item is on the board’s agenda for its Dec. 16 meeting.
