Oxford Holds Ribbon Cutting for New Animal Shelter

The new shelter was constructed with the help of volunteers and a budget of under $90,000.

Oxford Selectman Jeff Haney left and Oxford First Selectman George R. Temple held a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday for the official opening of the new Oxford Animal Shelter.

It was built with the help of volunteers and was built for under $90,000. Haney, who owns his own construction company supervised the project and work on the new building which is next to the old shelter which did not even have a bathroom for staff. The new building has a new bathroom and shower~ a kitchen, office and adoption room.
