Oxford Man Accused of Charity Scam

Connecticut Post reports that the man was arrested in Stamford.

A former charity telemarketer has been charged with bilking more than 20 people in Stamford out of money through a scheme, according to the Connecticut Post.

Daniel Joseph Tichy, 34, of 61 Shelton Road, Oxford, has been charged with 22 counts of criminal impersonation, two counts of second-degree larceny, one count of third-degree larceny and one count of third-degree forgery, according to the Post article.

Tichy is already imprisoned for burgalarizing a home of one of his Stamford donors in April, the Post reports. Tichy, who has a drug addiction problem, said that he worked for a charity that he in fact he no longer worked for the organization, and collected about $4,000 from 22 Stamford residents, two of whom were senior citizens, and then pocketed the money, the Post reports.
