Oxford Man Killed In 2-Vehicle Accident In Naugatuck: Police
The accident occurred Tuesday morning.

NAUGATUCK, CT — Naugatuck Police said an Oxford man was killed in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
At 11:15 a.m. police responded to a fatal two-car motor vehicle collision on Gunntown Road in the area Towantic Hill Road, police said. The collision involved two vehicles that collided just north of Towantic Hill and Chestnut Tree Hill roads near the Oxford/Naugatuck town line, police said.
The vehicles involved in the collision were each occupied by the drivers only and were identified as follows:

- A 1997 Honda Civic operated by Daniel Lucas, 43, of Oxford, who was pronounced deceased on scene and
- A 2006 Jeep Liberty operated by Alexander Oneschuk, 71, of Naugatuck. Oneshuk sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated and released from a local hospital.
Gunntown Road was closed for several hours while the accident was investigated and processed, the road was reopened shortly after 5 p.m.
The Naugatuck Valley Regional Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the collision and circumstances leading up to the collision, police said. It is expected that the investigation will take several weeks to be completed, police said.
