Oxford Middle School Has Its Next Principal

The district said its new middle school principal most recently served as an assistant principal.

OXFORD, CT — A veteran school leader is set to take over as the next principal of Oxford Middle School this summer.

Oxford Public Schools announced that Nathaniel Testroet will become principal effective July 1, 2026.

District officials said Testroet most recently served as an assistant principal, where he played a key role in improving school climate and advancing multi-tiered systems of support through staff professional learning and collaborative systems designed to give stakeholders a voice.

His work also extended beyond the building level, according to the district, including service on committees focused on district improvement plans and curriculum development.

“Every student is able to learn, share, play, and create,” Testroet said in a statement. “An educator’s success is measured by the pride in the hearts of the children they instruct, and the willingness with which they support and celebrate their colleagues.”

According to the district, Testroet holds a Sixth-Year Diploma in Educational Leadership from Quinnipiac University, a master’s degree in instructional technology from the University of Saint Joseph, and a bachelor’s degree in biology and secondary education from Central Connecticut State University.

Oxford Public Schools said Testroet is also a former science teacher and TEAM-certified mentor known for blending data-driven strategies with compassionate leadership.

The district said it is looking forward to welcoming him as he begins his new role leading Oxford Middle School on July 1.
