Oxford Middle School Referendum Results

Oxford residents were asked whether they would support construction of a new middle school in town.

OXFORD, CT — Oxford residents voted 2,449 to 858 in support of constructing a new $44.9 million middle school on town land on Great Oak Road, the Republican-American reports. The state will reimburse the town $11.9 million for the project.

The new school replaces Oxford Center School. School officials were ecstatic by the show of support for the project. Results were delayed because the voting machine jammed, the Republican-American reports.
