Oxford Monster Park Truck Proposal Has a Hearing Date: Report

The owner says he is trying to address resident concerns over his proposal.

OXFORD, CT — Thomas Beck is trying to allay Oxford residents concerns over his proposed monster truck park site pitched for 20 North Larkey Road, the Republican-American reports. Beck told the Rep-Am that he has worked to address noise concerns and his truck, The Nite Stalker, which he'll use to train people to drive, makes less noise than a lawn mower.

But residents are also concerned about the environment and whether this proposal is right for Oxford. A hearing will be held 7 p.m. at Town Hall Tuesday. He had planned to host a touch-a-truck event in Oxford this past weekend but it was cancelled due to a lack of permits. Funds would have been donated to the Oxford Library, the Republican-American reports.
