Oxford Moving Forward With Middle School Project Plans: Report

The town is beginning the process to hire an architect.

OXFORD, CT — Town officials are moving ahead with plans to hire an architect to oversee development of a new Oxford middle school project, the Republican-American reports.

Town leaders want a middle school for sixth through eighth grades, which would lead to the closing of Oxford Center School, the Rep-Am reports. The middle school building may end up around 80,000-square-feet.

The new school would be built on the same campus as Quaker and Great Oak schools, the Rep-Am reports. The school project would be available for state reimbursement and a referendum would have to be scheduled.
