Oxford To Offer Land For Community Garden
The Town of Oxford will offer land as part of a community garden project.

OCFORD, CT — The Town of Oxford will offer land as part of a community garden project.
First Selectman George Temple wrote the following on Facebook:
"At the last agricultural committee meeting I floated the idea of having a community garden. I realize that not everyone in Oxford can have a garden at home. People who live in Meadow Brook or Oxford Greens don't have the space. Other people are a victim of the topography or lack of sun at home. With the cost of food going up. I thought this was a logical approach to ease the burden.
The town does have some land to offer to this project. We would need a spot that gets plenty of sun with available water. It would be a nice place to chat with your neighbors. You don't have to be a gardener to plant one, Believe me, there are a lot of people out there who will give you advice. (anybody who is on face book can tell you that). There is nothing like home grown tomatoes. Let me know what you think of the idea."
