Oxford Parents Touched by Tragedy Vow to Help Others: Report
The parents lost their daughter, 22, to an overdose death last year and now they are volunteering to help other families.

OXFORD, CT — Every community in Connecticut has been touched by tragedy concerning the ever-growing opioid epidemic and Oxford is no exception. Oxford has one of the highest rates of overdose deaths in the state.
Last year, Lauren “Lala” Provenzano, 22, died of an overdose at her Oxford home and since then her family has made it their calling to help other families who are trying to deal with addiction, the Republican-American reports.
The Rev. Vincent Provenzano, of New Life Church in Trumbull and his wife, Nereida, will share the tragic story of their daughter at “Let’s Talk About the Opioid Crisis,” an event at Oxford High School on April 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
